Our expert technicians use a precision Derailleur Alignment Gauge (DAG) to align most rear derailleur hangers, ensuring optimal shifting performance. The process involves mounting your bike in a repair stand, optionally removing the derailleur for better access, and carefully checking the hanger’s alignment against the wheel’s rim at multiple points. Controlled adjustments are made to bend the hanger into proper alignment, followed by reinstallation and fine-tuning of the derailleur. This service is 95% effective in restoring smooth shifting, though in rare cases, a severely damaged or soft hanger may require replacement.
